Reading and listening are marked from the answer. Writing checks the word limit. Speaking keeps what you typed.
Use the vocab book, shadowing, study plan, and score report.
The percent on a task is its exam weight. AI Score means the attempt produces a practice score.
Each section lists the question types on this site and how that attempt is scored.
Read aloud, repeat a sentence, describe a chart, retell a lecture, answer a short question, summarize a discussion, and respond to a situation.
Short answers are marked against the accepted words. You type what you said so the attempt is kept. Delivery is not given a fake pronunciation score.
Write a one-sentence summary, an essay, or a Core email.
A summary must be one sentence of 5–75 words. An essay is checked for 200–300 words. An email is checked for 50–120 words. Grammar and ideas are not auto-graded.
Fill gaps from a menu or a word bank, choose one answer or several, and put sentences back in order.
One answer is full marks or zero. Several answers score +1 or −1 and never go below zero. Re-order scores adjacent pairs. Each blank is one point.
A written script stands in for the recording. You summarize it, fill gaps, choose a summary, and type the sentence.
Listening uses the script because there is no audio file. Gaps, choices, and dictation are scored from that text.
Marks follow the shape of the task. Delivery, grammar, and ideas are not given a made-up score.
